with 2010 in the books id like to take a look back at the year. The first couple months of the year were spent on full tilt grinding super turbos. I built up a decent roll but wasnt progressing as a player due to the lack of post flop play in these games. In april I was pretty burnt out and fed up with the variance in these games and moved to pokerstars to grind 18,45, and 180 mans. I feel my play style in the early stages is better suited to mttsng's rather than 9 mans. I was planning on making a run at supernova elite 30 tabling the 27$-60$ 18 and 45 mans. Breaking even in these games would result in over 100k plus profits from the games. At the end of October i made the move back into super turbos and for the rest of the year i was absolutely killing the games. I was consistently in the top 5 for average profit on sharkscope for the 16-35$ and 36-100$ level. pokers a lot more fun when youre winning. I spent a lot of time studying and using my HUD. Im also table selecting now, which was something i wasnt doing earlier this year. im only registering in games where i feel my long term $/game is over $2 before rakeback. heres my graph from 4/14-12/31:
im waiting for the reset to be removed on my FT stats but i mostly broke even and earned a ton of rakeback the first 3 months of the year. I felt i was well prepared heading into 2010 but some things you cant prepare for and experience is the best teacher. Ive outlined some goals for myself in 2011
-over 100k profit
-update blog at least once a month
-workout at the gym at least 3x a week
-keep working on my 6 max game. study 2-3 hours a week exclusively on 6 max
-top 5 for total profit on sharkscope for either 6 or 9 man super turbos
-retain my supernova status on stars- not that important but gives me a nice back up option if i become sick of super turbos again
good luck to everyone in 2011 and see you at the tables
